Caine Youngman:

“Gay people experience all sorts of hardships. It’s not like gay people like being gay. Some families even kick their children out when they realize that they are gay. They(gays) are Batswana and were not made in a cocoon somewhere and put in this country to corrupt Batswana.” 

In his affidavit to be submitted to the court, Youngman says: “I never freely express my sexuality because of the law that criminalises sex between people of the same sex referring to it as ‘canal knowledge against the order of nature’ as well as social attitudes which stigmatize and discriminate against people with my sexual orientation”.

Youngman further states that the prejudices are entrenched by government because of their refusal to register LEGABIBO, a gays and lesbians organisation that he founded.
